About The Opportunity We are seeking an After-Hours Supervisor to oversee library operations at our Gordon White Library. Working in our after-hours timeslots (Thursday evenings & Saturday mornings), with additional daytime availability on Thursday and Friday you will ensuring a safe, professional and customer-focused service for our community. This is a temporary part-time position until 30 June 2027, working 17.25 hours per week with a flexible roster across any 5 out of 7 days . Key Responsibilities Manage circulation, reference, and general library services during after-hours operations Supervise and support casual staff to deliver high-quality service Provide professional assistance and information to library patrons Ensure compliance with library policies, procedures and local laws Coordinate staff rosters for after-hours servicedelivery Process transactions including library payments and Council services Liaise with supervisors and contribute to continuous service improvement Essential Requirements About You Working with Children Blue Card Availability to work Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings Ability to undertake a comprehensive pre-employment medical with instant drug & alcohol screening Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage a diverse community Demonstrated supervisory or leadership capability Effective communication skills (written and verbal) Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office Knowledge of (or ability to learn) library systems and processes Desirable Certificate III in Library Services Experience working in a library environment What You Bring A proactive, adaptable approach to working in a changing environment Ability to build strong working relationships and support a team A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Alignment with Council values of safety, respect, teamwork, accountability and customer focus Why Join MRC?
