Join Western District Health Service as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) in the Emergency Department, where you’ll play a key role in supporting high-quality, safe and efficient patient care. Working alongside the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide leadership, support staff, coordinate resources, respond to clinical situations, and contribute to continuous improvement, patient safety and high-quality care, including deputising for the NUM when required. What You'll Be Doing As part of our committed clinical team, you’ll provide safe, respectful, and person-centred care across: Leadership & Mentorship — Proven ability to support, guide and mentor staff, fostering a positive team culture and building capability across the workforce. Clinical Expertise — Strong clinical knowledge with the ability to respond to changing patient conditions, support safe care delivery and ensure best practice standards. Operational & Resource Management — Ability to coordinate staffing and resources effectively to support patient flow, service demands and unit performance targets. Communication & Collaboration — Highly developed communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff, patients, families and multidisciplinary teams. Decision-Making & Problem Solving — Confidence in managing clinical situations, resolving issues and making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to Quality & Safety — A strong focus on continuous improvement, risk management, and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. Professionalism & Accountability — Ability to work within scope of practice, uphold professional standards, and support the NUM in achieving key performance outcomes. What You Bring • Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) • Demonstrated experience in emergency nursing, with leadership experience desirable • Postgraduate qualifications in Emergency or Critical Care (desirable) • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and care coordination skills • Ability to lead, support and deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in a fast-paced environment • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills • Sound understanding of relevant legislation and the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards • Commitment to safe, compliant practice and continuous improvement • Demonstrated alignment with WDHS Values: Integrity, Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Empathy • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders Why Join Western District Health Service?
