Allied Health Assistant - Physiotherapy Casual Position Join a Team That Makes a Difference South Perth Hospital is seeking a motivated and compassionate Allied Health Assistant to support our Physiotherapy team in delivering high-quality patient-centred care within our General Medical ward. This is an excellent opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant who enjoys working with older adults and values being part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team. You'll play an important role in supporting patient mobility and independence while contributing to positive patient outcomes. About the Role Working under the supervision and direction of our Physiotherapists, you will assist with the delivery of physiotherapy programs and support patients with mobility, transfers, exercise programs and activities of daily living. Our general medical ward cares for older adult patients with a diverse range of medical, post-surgical and restorative care needs, including patients awaiting residential care placement. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' recovery, wellbeing and quality of life. Key responsibilities include: Assisting patients with mobility, walking programs and prescribed exercises Supporting patients with transfers and activities of daily living Assisting Physiotherapists with treatment programs and activities Maintaining patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions Accurately documenting patient care activities as required Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. About You Essential Criteria Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, Health Services Assistance or equivalent qualification Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and patient-centred care Desirable Criteria Previous experience working as an Allied Health Assistant Experience working in an acute hospital setting Experience supporting older adults or clients with complex care needs.
