Townsville Enterprise is a dynamic not-for-profit organisation dedicated to positioning Townsville North Queensland as a premier sports, festivals and events destination. This role drives the ongoing development and implementation of the Townsville Events Strategy and supports the regions visitor economy to promote a world-class events calendar for Townsville, maximising economic and social benefits. Your Role: Administration: Administer activities related to the Major Events business unit, Townsville Events Calendar and act as the Major Events Advisory Panel Secretariat. Track details and proposals of new and existing events. Major Events Strategy: Assist the Director in the implementation of the Major Events Strategy and support the outcomes of the Destination Management Plan. Contract Management: Development and production of event contracts, agreements and reports including milestone payments and grant acquittals. Convention Bureau: Manage convention bureau grant and tasks, including event famils, socials, print and other assets. Collaborative Approach: Provide content creation and marketing associated with contract deliverables, working closely with the marketing team to align event themes with event strategy and destination management goals and stakeholder expectations. Essential Skills and Qualifications: Passion for events of all kinds. Marketing and/or public relations background/skills Familiarity with the Townsville region, its local events and event opportunities. Strong organisational, time management, and planning capabilities. Proficient in administrative tasks and professional correspondence. Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Ability to occasionally work outside regular business hours. Class C Driver’s License.
