Experienced Fitter – Mining Equipment Repairs & Overhauls (Workshop Based) Werner Engineering – Paget, Mackay QLD Werner Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trade Qualified Fitter to join our Paget workshop team. We are looking for someone who has strong experience working on heavy mining equipment and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. This role is suited to a fitter who has excellent fault-finding skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to complete complex repairs and rebuilds to a high standard. Working from our fully equipped Paget workshop, you will be involved in the repair, maintenance, and overhaul of mining components and fixed plant equipment. Key Responsibilities Strip, assess, repair, and rebuild mining equipment and components. Carry out maintenance and overhauls on wash plant equipment, crushers, breaker barrels, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and heavy mechanical assemblies. Diagnose mechanical faults and provide effective repair solutions. Complete precision fitting, measuring, and assembly work. Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Ensure all work meets quality requirements and customer expectations. Work closely with machining and fabrication teams to deliver complete repair solutions. Maintain safe work practices and follow company procedures. About You To be successful you will have Australian recognised Fitter trade qualification. Extensive experience with mining equipment repairs and rebuilds. Strong knowledge of fixed plant components including crushers, gearboxes, and wash plant equipment. High level of mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability. Pride in workmanship with excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
