Deliver hands on civil design across regional water infrastructure projects with Goulburn Murray Water Your new organisation GoulburnMurray Water, in partnership with Hays, is seeking a capable and motivated Civil Engineer to join its Project Services team based in Tatura. This role is ideal for a handson engineer who enjoys delivering practical design solutions and contributing to essential regional water infrastructure. Youll work across a wide range of irrigation, drainage and dam assets that directly support communities throughout Northern Victoria. Your new role Reporting to the Lead Project Services team, this position focuses on core engineering design delivery. Youll prepare drawings, reports and cost estimates, support construction delivery, and work closely with Senior Engineers and external consultants. This is a predominant designfocused role, with periodic site inspections, troubleshooting and construction support as required. Key responsibilities include: Deliver civil engineering designs for irrigation, drainage and dam infrastructure Prepare drawings, reports, specifications and cost estimates Produce AutoCAD and Civil 3D designs (2D & 3D) Support channel remediation scopes of work and design reviews Liaise with internal teams and external engineering consultants Assist with tender documentation and evaluation Contribute to project reporting (time, cost, quality, risk) Participate in site inspections and construction support Apply Safety in Design and comply with Australian standards What you'll need to succeed A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (EA eligible) Experience in civil design - ideally within water, drainage, irrigation or heavy civil projects Handson AutoCAD and Civil 3D capability Understanding of civil construction, hydraulics and structural principles Strong communication skills and a practical, problemsolving mindset Victorian Drivers Licence and full Australian working rights Engineering registration is not mandatory, though candidates working toward NER/CPEng are encouraged What you'll get in return Youll receive a competitive salary of $88k - $103k super, along with relocation assistance, pool vehicle, travel allowances, and accommodation support for regional site visits.
