We’re seeking an experienced and people-focused Security Operations Manager to lead security operations across some of Melbourne’s busiest and most iconic live entertainment venues. Working across live music, theatre and major events, you’ll lead teams of security supervisors and guards to ensure every event is delivered safely, professionally and with exceptional customer service at the forefront. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-energy environments and has a strong background in live events, crowd management and operational leadership. As Security Operations Manager you will oversee day-to-day security operations, lead and support frontline security teams, and work closely with venue management, promoters, production, food & beverage and front-of-house teams to deliver safe and seamless event experiences. Responsibilities Lead security operations across live music, theatre and event environments Oversee crowd management, access control, entry points and public safety operations Lead and support responses to complex or high-risk incidents and emergencies Mentor, coach and manage security supervisors, team leaders and guards Support recruitment, onboarding and training of security staff Drive a strong customer service culture across all security operations Work collaboratively with venue operations, production and event stakeholders Ensure compliance with licensing, OH&S and public safety requirements Oversee incident reporting, operational documentation and post-event reporting Contribute to ongoing improvements in security procedures and operational standards Your Profile Current Security License and First Aid qualification Proven experience in senior security leadership roles within live entertainment, venues, events or other high-volume customer-facing environments Strong understanding of crowd management, venue security and public safety operations Calm, confident and solutions-focused under pressure Excellent leadership, communication and conflict resolution skills Strong administrative and organisational capability with attention to detail Flexible and adaptable, with availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays aligned with event schedules Passion for delivering safe, professional and welcoming guest experiences Benefits A leadership role within Melbourne’s dynamic live entertainment industry Opportunity to work across iconic venues and major events Collaborative team culture with strong operational support Diverse, fast-paced and rewarding work environment Career growth opportunities within a respected venue and events organisation Contact If you’re an experienced security leader ready to take ownership of high-profile live event operations, we’d love to hear from you.
