ROLE – Senior Product Design Engineer SALARY – $140,000 to $160,000 super (dependent on experience) TYPE – Permanent LOCATION – Brisbane, QLD Our client is a well-established Australian manufacturer in the fenestration industry. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Product Design Engineer to join their team in Brisbane. The Senior Product Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: Proven experience within the fenestration industry is essential 5 years' experience in Product Design, Industrial Design or Mechanical Design Engineering Strong knowledge of aluminium window and door systems, glazing products, curtain walls, skylights or related building products Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design or a related discipline Advanced 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or similar) Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes, including aluminium extrusion, fabrication and assembly Experience leading products through the complete development lifecycle from concept through to manufacture Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations and commercial teams A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement The Senior Product Design Engineer role will involve: Leading the design and development of innovative products from concept through to production Driving new product development projects Producing detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings and engineering documentation Working closely with manufacturing teams to optimise designs for efficient production and assembly Supporting product testing, validation and compliance activities Managing engineering changes, product improvements and technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) Collaborating with suppliers to source and develop new components and materials Providing technical guidance and mentoring junior engineers where appropriate Working alongside cross-functional teams including Operations, Quality, Procurement and Sales to successfully deliver new products Contributing to the company's ongoing product development strategy and continuous improvement initiatives This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing Australian manufacturer that is committed to innovation, engineering excellence and long-term product development.
