As part of the Tree Crew, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the streetscapes, parks, reserves, and ovals of Alice Springs. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to care for trees and shrubs through expert pruning, pest and disease management, and safe operation of machinery including cherry pickers, chainsaws, and wood chippers. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, reliable, and enjoys working outdoors as part of a team or independently. Skills And Experiences What You Will Bring: You will bring hands-on skills, a safety-first approach, and a passion for keeping Alice Springs’ trees and green spaces healthy and thriving. You’ll be confident pruning and caring for trees and shrubs to Australian standards and operating machinery such as cherry pickers, chainsaws, wood chippers, and stump grinders. Experienced or willing to gain key certifications—including Chainsaw Operation, Elevated Work Platform, Traffic Management, First Aid/CPR, and Construction Induction—you work safely, efficiently, and reliably in all weather. With a current NT MR Class License, you’ll move confidently between sites, working respectfully with the public and your team to make a visible difference in the community. Must Have: Current National Criminal History check (less than 6 months old), Current NT MR class license or equivalent to be able to be able to operate machinery in accordance with work requirement, Current Chainsaw Operation and Elevated Work Platform Certificates or ability to obtain, NT work zone Traffic Management I and II or ability to obtain, NT Construction White Card, and Current Provide First Aid (minimum).
