About the Role Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a driven and personable Mobile Asbestos Laboratory Specialist to join their team. This permanent role is ideal for an experienced asbestos professional seeking a hands-on position with increased responsibility and autonomy in a client-focused environment. Working from a mobile, vehicle-based laboratory, you will travel to client sites across Brisbane to carry out asbestos inspections, sampling, and analysis, while supporting high standards of quality and operational excellence. Note: All successful applicants must undergo medical testing, including drug and alcohol screening, and complete a criminal history check. Key Responsibilities As part of this role, you will: Conduct asbestos inspections, sample collection, and analysis across residential, commercial, and industrial sites in line with NATA-accredited requirements Perform accurate field testing using PLM and stereo microscopy, ensuring reliable identification of ACMs Manage sample handling from collection through to analysis, ensuring traceability and accurate documentation Prepare high-quality reports in line with NATA-accredited and ISO 17025 standards, and communicate findings clearly to clients Maintain mobile laboratory equipment, vehicles, and sampling kits to ensure operational readiness Work safely and autonomously while adhering to relevant WHS, quality, and compliance standards Contribute to improving processes while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy To be successful in this role, you’ll need: Around 3 years’ hands-on experience in asbestos testing Proven experience identifying asbestos using PLM and stereo microscopy Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g. ISO 17025, ISO 9001, AS 5370 / AS 4964, ISO 22262 ) Willingness to complete proficiency testing for asbestos identification (supported by the employer) A valid Australian driver’s licence and confidence working in a mobile lab environment Strong communication skills and a practical, proactive approach Ability to work independently and manage your own workload Apply!
