Their fund administration division is the world's largest administrator of alternative funds, overseeing in excess of USD $4 trillion in assets under administration across hedge funds, private equity, real estate and fund of funds structures. The Australian tax team sits within a global tax function of over 150 specialists spanning 12 jurisdictions and is entering a significant period of growth. About the Role This is a newly structured position created to support the Head of Australian Tax as the team expands. The Tax Manager will work closely with the Head of Tax and will serve as the first line of defence for a portfolio of alternative fund clients, taking ownership of day-to-day compliance delivery while helping to lift the capability of the broader team. This is a hands-on role and the successful candidate will be expected to prepare and review complex tax calculations alongside managing client relationships and contributing to process improvement. As the team grows through the remainder of the year, the Tax Manager will take on a people leadership role, including guiding junior team members. Key responsibilities include: Preparing tax compliance calculations, including distribution calculations, tax provisions, franking credit calculations, AIIR reporting, income tax returns, investor statements and BAS returns Acting as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert for a portfolio of alternative fund clients Assisting the Head of Australian Tax in reviewing end-to-end client deliverables Supporting the development and maintenance of tax policies, procedures and risk controls Identifying and implementing process improvements and automation initiatives across tax templates Contributing to the growth and technical development of junior team members About You The ideal candidate will come from a fund tax background, ideally within a Big 4 or large mid-tier professional services firm. Candidates with a business services or corporate tax background will be considered at Manager level, provided they have direct experience working with fund clients and can demonstrate hands-on technical tax preparation skills; however, custody or superannuation administration backgrounds differ significantly from the fund administration environment.
