Your New Role: This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for leading a team of technical specialists while providing expert technical guidance across projects, client engagements, and strategic initiatives. Reporting to senior leadership, you will play a pivotal role in developing technical capability, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality solutions, and supporting the continued growth of the organisation. Responsibilities include: Leading, mentoring and developing a team of technical consultants and specialists. Providing day-to-day technical leadership, coaching and support across multiple projects. Acting as the senior technical authority for water quality, water treatment and risk management matters. Reviewing and approving technical reports, designs, risk assessments and client deliverables. Supporting the design, optimisation and performance of water treatment systems and water safety solutions. Providing technical oversight during complex investigations, troubleshooting and incident response activities. Ensuring technical consistency, quality assurance and compliance with relevant legislation, Australian Standards and industry best practice. Building technical capability through mentoring, knowledge sharing and structured professional development. Contributing to business development activities including proposals, tenders, technical presentations and solution design. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, regulators and industry stakeholders. Translating complex technical information into practical, commercially viable solutions. Supporting innovation, continuous improvement and the development of new technical service offerings. Assisting with strategic planning and helping shape the future direction of the technical consulting team. Promoting a collaborative, supportive and high-performing team culture. Your Profile: You are an experienced technical leader who enjoys solving complex problems, mentoring others and helping organisations deliver exceptional technical outcomes. You combine strong technical expertise with natural leadership abilities and are passionate about developing people while remaining actively involved in technical consulting and project delivery. As well as this, you will have: Extensive experience within water quality, water treatment, environmental consulting, infrastructure, healthcare, mining or related technical sectors. Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring or managing technical professionals. Strong technical expertise in water treatment systems, water quality management, water safety and operational risk management. Experience reviewing technical work and providing guidance on complex engineering and scientific challenges. Proven ability to manage competing priorities while supporting multiple technical projects. Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Experience contributing to proposals, tenders, client presentations and business development initiatives. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical excellence with client and business outcomes. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Process Engineering or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications, Chartered status or relevant professional memberships will be highly regarded. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities. High levels of professionalism, integrity and accountability. Full Australian working rights.
