Our Speciality Vet Nurse Program is a fantastic opportunity for nurses with general practice experience to join our specialty team for a 12-month contract and build on your foundational knowledge in a referral and emergency care setting. The Nurse Internship Program is designed to: Provide an understanding of multiple specialist departments with on-the-job training Build on your current knowledge and skill set while developing a deeper understanding of the specific roles and responsibilities within a specialist hospital setting. Facilitate the transition from supervised to independent specialist nursing Prepare you for future potential employment in a specialist hospital Throughout the program, you’ll rotate through the following departments: Internal Medicine Oncology Dermatology Theatre (including Anaesthesia) Ophthalmology Hospital Care Emergency and Critical Care These rotations will immerse you in each department, allowing you to challenge yourself and gain valuable experience. You’ll collaborate with a supportive team of experienced nurses and specialists, all dedicated to helping you grow and succeed. This is a full-time 12-month position, which includes rotating shifts, weekends, after hours, and public holidays. To be considered for this, candidates must: Hold a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing Have at least 1-2 years of full-time experience in a General Practice clinic Be a team player with creative problem-solving skills Have a positive attitude and a willingness to develop new skills Why apply for a SASH Specialty Veterinary Nurse program?
