The Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team based in Malaga, Perth. This role is primarily focused on providing on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and overhaul of industrial blowers, compressors, gas meters, and associated rotating equipment across customer sites throughout Western Australia. Working autonomously in the field, you will be the face of the business, delivering exceptional technical support while building strong customer relationships. When not attending customer sites, you will assist with workshop-based repairs, machine overhauls, assembly of new equipment packages, spare parts support, and operational activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or Service Technician who enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction, travel, and a varied role with a respected global industry leader. Key Responsibilities: Perform on-site servicing, preventative maintenance, repairs, and breakdown support. Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on industrial blowers, compressors, gas meters, and rotating equipment. Carry out equipment installations, commissioning, and performance testing. Conduct inspections, condition assessments, and provide technical recommendations. Complete detailed service reports and QA documentation. Discuss findings and maintenance recommendations with customers and internal stakeholders. Provide technical support to customers to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime. Respond to emergency breakdowns and service requests as required. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service delivery. Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and rebuild industrial equipment. Replace bearings, seals, shafts, couplings, and associated mechanical components. Assemble and test new machine packages prior to dispatch. Conduct workshop testing and quality checks to manufacturer specifications. Assist with packing, dispatch, and preparation of equipment for customers. Pick, check, label, pack, and dispatch spare parts orders. Assist with stocktakes and inventory control activities. Operate forklifts and company vehicles for deliveries, pickups, and service work. Maintain workshop equipment, storage areas, and documentation systems. Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment. Ensure compliance with company quality assurance procedures. Adhere to all workplace health and safety requirements. Contribute to the development and improvement of workshop and service procedures. Skills & Experience Trade qualification in Fitting & Turning, Mechanical Fitting, or equivalent. Previous experience servicing and repairing industrial rotating equipment. Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills. Current Driver's Licence. Current Forklift Licence preferred. Strong communication and customer service skills. Computer literacy and ability to complete electronic service documentation. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Positive attitude and strong commitment to safety. Willingness to travel throughout Western Australia and interstate as required.
