We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand HD Fitter to join a high-performing maintenance team on a 2/1 roster at a gold mining operation in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, approximately 65km south-east of Newman. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who brings strong technical capability, proven mining experience, and the ability to lead, support, and develop a crew in a fast-paced production environment. You will take ownership of day-to-day maintenance activities while ensuring equipment availability, reliability, and safety standards are consistently met across site operations. The operation features a range of heavy mobile equipment, including Komatsu 1500 Dump Trucks, D10 Dozers, 16M Graders, Hitachi EX3600 Excavators, and Liebherr 9200 & 9300 Excavators. Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise a team of HD Fitters in day-to-day maintenance activities Plan, coordinate, and prioritise maintenance and repair work on mobile plant equipment Carry out hands-on diagnostics, fault finding, servicing, and repairs as required Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to site standards Support shutdowns, breakdowns, and scheduled maintenance events Monitor equipment condition and provide feedback to improve reliability and performance Ensure compliance with site safety systems, procedures, and legislative requirements Mentor and support team members to build capability and performance Liaise with supervisors, planners, and operations teams to ensure smooth production flow To be successful in this role, you will require: HR driver’s licence (desirable) Relevant Heavy Diesel Fitter trade qualification Previous mine site experience as a Leading Hand HD Fitter Experience working on heavy mobile mining equipment (Komatsu, CAT, etc.) Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and support a team Excellent communication skills High level of motivation and initiative Strong understanding of Work Health & Safety systems and procedures
