We're currently working with a large Melbourne based organisation kicking off a major security uplift program across their SOC and detection capabilities. This will be a 12 month contract with likelihood of extension. This is a hands on engineering role focused on improving visibility, detection and response across a modern security stack. If you’ve been working across SIEM, EDR, and incident response in a contract environment, this one will be highly relevant. What you’ll be doing: Build and tune SIEM detections (Splunk/Sentinel/similar) Work across incident response & threat hunting Improve detection use cases aligned to MITRE ATT&CK Support ongoing SOC uplift/security engineering initiatives Collaborate with internal teams on security tooling & automation What we’re looking for: Strong experience in Security Operations/Engineering roles Hands on SIEM experience (Sentinel, Splunk etc.) Exposure to EDR/XDR (Defender, CrowdStrike etc.) Experience in incident response or threat hunting Bonus: KQL/SPL, scripting, or cloud exposure (AWS/Azure) Why this role: Long term program of work (not a short term patch job) High impact project across detection & response Flexible working & strong day rate Immediate start available If you’re currently immediately available or finishing a contract soon, we want to hear from you!
