About Building Component Sales Building Component Sales has been servicing the Newcastle, Hunter and Port Stephens building industry for more than 40 years. Based in Gateshead, the business supplies tools, fasteners, building hardware and trade products to customers across the region. It is also a specialist repair and warranty center for leading brands including Paslode, Bostitch, Senco and MAX. Backed by BISG and Metal Manufactures Pty Ltd, you’ll have the support of a national network while still operating in a fast-moving local branch. About the Role This is a hands-on workshop role responsible for diagnosing faults, completing repairs and keeping customers' equipment operating reliably. While the workshop will be your main focus, the team works together across the business, so there may be times where you assist customers at the counter or help out in other areas when needed. This is a full-time position, however we're happy to consider part-time hours for the right candidate. What You'll Be Doing Diagnosing faults across a range of power tools and nail guns Completing repairs and replacing worn or damaged components Testing equipment and carrying out final quality checks Managing repair jobs from assessment through to completion Assisting customers with repair enquiries and warranty requests Supporting the wider team with general branch activities when required About You Experience repairing power tools, nail guns, air tools or similar equipment Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence working with hand and power tools Able to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently Practical, reliable and happy working in a workshop environment Willing to jump in and help the team wherever required Current driver's licence and full Australian working rights required If you've repaired tools professionally, worked on them in your own workshop, or have a strong mechanical background and the right attitude, we'd love to hear from you.
