About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead the delivery of a large-scale HV Substation, 275kV Transmission Line, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project located in the Fraser Coast region (Queensland). This is a site-based leadership role responsible for end-to-end delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in line with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Site Leadership Lead full site execution across civil, structural, HV electrical, mechanical, SCADA, and commissioning phases Manage multiple work fronts and complex SIMOPS environments Oversee: Substation construction Transmission line works BESS installation and integration Ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements Planning & Coordination Develop and execute detailed short-term work plans Coordinate labour, plant, materials, craneage, and critical activities Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain programme Commercial & Cost Control Manage subcontractor performance and progress claims Monitor budgets and cost-to-complete Identify variations, delays, and commercial risks Support commercial reporting and project delivery outcomes Safety, Quality & Compliance Champion a strong zero-harm safety culture Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and company standards Oversee implementation of SWMS, permits, and high-risk work controls Drive quality assurance, inspections, and compliance with Australian standards Stakeholder Management Act as key on-site interface with: Clients and network providers (e.g. Powerlink) Engineers, designers, and commissioning teams Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships Ensure alignment across all project interfaces Team Leadership Lead and mentor supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors Drive performance, productivity, and team engagement Ensure effective workforce planning and utilization Commissioning & Handover Coordinate pre-commissioning, testing, and energisation Ensure completion of QA documentation and defect close-out Support delivery of key project milestones About You Experience Minimum 15 years’ experience in: HV Substation construction (132kV–500kV preferred) Large-scale infrastructure or BESS project delivery Proven track record managing: Complex, multi-disciplinary site operations Multiple subcontractors and concurrent work streams Technical Capability Strong knowledge of: HV installation, testing, and commissioning practices Civil and electrical construction interfaces Qualifications & Licenses Electrical trade or engineering qualification (preferred) Relevant HV switching or access authorizations (desirable) White Card and current driver’s license Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (preferred) Current CPR, LVR, and First Aid Relevant construction tickets (EWP, forklift, etc.) What Success Looks Like Zero-harm safety outcomes On-time delivery of key milestones Budget adherence and cost control High-quality delivery with minimal defects Positive client and stakeholder feedback Apply Now If you are a driven and experienced Site Manager looking to contribute to Australia’s energy future and lead complex HV infrastructure projects, we would love to hear from you.
