We're working with a high-growth Australian technology business looking to appoint a Head of Cloud & Platform Engineering to lead the next phase of its cloud and engineering platform evolution. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of technology leadership, cloud architecture and platform engineering. You'll work closely with senior technology stakeholders to shape cloud strategy, uplift engineering capability and create an environment that enables teams to deliver faster, safer and more effectively. Rather than simply managing infrastructure, you'll be responsible for helping drive a modern engineering culture, improving platform capabilities and ensuring the organisation is well positioned to support future innovation, including emerging AI initiatives. What you'll be doing Lead a team across cloud platforms, DevOps and technology operations. Develop and execute cloud and platform engineering strategy. Partner with engineering leaders to improve developer experience and delivery capability. Drive automation, platform standardisation and engineering best practices. Champion modern cloud-native approaches and platform thinking across the business. Provide architectural leadership and guidance on future technology direction. Support the ongoing evolution of cloud capabilities that underpin product, data and AI initiatives. Build strong relationships across technology, security and business stakeholders. About You You'll likely come from a Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps or Cloud Architecture background and have progressed into leadership roles where you've been responsible for both people and technology outcomes. We're interested in leaders who have: Experience leading cloud or platform engineering teams. Delivered cloud transformation or modernisation programs. Strong knowledge of public cloud environments (AWS, GCP and/or Azure). Experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and modern engineering practices. A strong understanding of platform engineering and developer enablement. The ability to influence stakeholders and bring teams on a technology transformation journey.
