Job Description Position: APS3 Legal Support Officer Location: Sydney Start date: ASAP Duration: 6 months with potential to extend Pay rate: $45.18 per hour plus superannuation Security requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance Overview: An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Legal Support Officer to join a busy legal services environment supporting legal professionals with a broad range of administrative and litigation support functions. This role is ideal for a highly organised individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced setting and contributing to the successful management of complex legal matters. Working within a collaborative support team, you will provide high-quality administrative assistance and utilise legal practice systems and digital litigation tools to support the preparation, management and delivery of legal services. Responsibilities: Create and maintain case files, undertake data entry, filing, photocopying and records management activities. Draft routine correspondence, emails and legal documentation using approved templates. Coordinate witnesses, prepare summonses and subpoenas, arrange travel and assist with court-related activities. Prepare court materials and manage the lodgement, filing, collection and delivery of documentation. Conduct basic research and arrange video conferencing, interpreter and translation services. Liaise with legal professionals, external stakeholders, courts and counsel. Provide advice and assistance regarding systems, processes and service offerings. Respond to general enquiries and resolve routine operational issues. Manage competing priorities and complete allocated tasks within required timeframes. Contribute to a positive team environment and support broader organisational objectives. Experience/requirements: Previous experience in an administrative support role, preferably within a legal, government or professional services environment. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Experience using records management systems, case management systems or similar business applications. Ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and research skills. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other digital business tools.
