The Role Our client is seeking an experienced Machinery Maintenance Operator to join a busy almond orchard operation in the agriculture industry. Working in a fast-paced outdoor environment, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing orchard machinery to support safe and efficient harvesting and farming operations. This position suits someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in keeping equipment operating at peak performance. Key Responsibilities This role is focused on ensuring orchard machinery remains safe, reliable, and operational throughout the season. You will work closely with supervisors and farm teams to minimise downtime and support daily agricultural activities. Perform preventative maintenance on tractors, sprayers, harvesters, and other orchard machinery. Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs efficiently. Conduct routine inspections and servicing of equipment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities. Ensure machinery complies with workplace safety requirements. Assist with cleaning and upkeep of equipment and work areas. Follow instructions provided by supervisors and management. Complete additional farm duties as required. Benefits Competitive pay rate of $32.04 per hour plus applicable penalty rates. Opportunity for overtime and additional hours during busy periods. 3-month assignment with potential for ongoing seasonal opportunities. Consistent 38 hours per week with the possibility of working up to 6 days per week (depending on the weather) Gain experience within a large-scale almond production operation. Experience performing machinery maintenance and repairs. Ability to operate and work around tractors and orchard machinery safely. Good spoken English and the ability to understand instructions communicated via radio. Reliable and flexible with availability to work varied hours, including peak season requirements.
