Protech are looking for an experienced Laboratory Assistant for a contract with a local council. ABOUT THE ROLE End date: 2 October 2026 Hours: 36.25 hours per week – Monday to Friday Salary: $69,639.57 pro-rata per annum Work with a reputable local council laboratory team Supportive environment with on-the-job training KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare laboratory samples, solutions, media and glassware Perform routine laboratory testing and basic analysis Maintain laboratory cleanliness, equipment, and safety standards Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including autoclaves and dishwashers Assist with stock control and ensure adequate supply levels Enter and process analytical data in LIMS Perform quality control checks and assist with calibration of equipment Support laboratory staff with daily operations and testing requirements TICKETS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Essential: Certificate in Laboratory Techniques or minimum 1 year laboratory experience Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, databases) Ability to work effectively in a team environment Desirable: Experience in a water testing or environmental laboratory Understanding of laboratory quality systems (NATA) Relevant science qualification QLD C Class Driver Licence PRE‑EMPLOYMENT CHECKS The successful candidate will be required to complete: National Police Check Pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Test HOW TO APPLY Contact Protech Recruitment on ( for more information or click APPLY below.
