Job Description Oral Health Therapist / Dental Hygienist (Part-Time) Mandurah North Dental – Mandurah, WA Mandurah North Dental is seeking a caring and motivated Oral Health Therapist or Dental Hygienist to join our friendly team on a part-time basis (3 to 4 days a week). We are particularly interested in candidates who are passionate about preventative dentistry and periodontal care, and who enjoy building long-term relationships with patients. About the Role As an Oral Health Therapist/Hygienist, you will play an important role in helping our patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. You will work closely with our dentists to provide high-quality preventative and periodontal care while supporting a positive patient experience. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental hygiene treatments, including scaling and root planing procedures Assess and monitor periodontal health, develop maintenance programs, and support patients with ongoing periodontal care Provide preventative oral health education, including oral hygiene instruction and dietary advice Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with safety protocols Apply preventative treatments such as fluoride applications and fissure sealants Assess patients' oral health status and communicate findings effectively with the supervising dentist Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment documentation Sterilise and maintain instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards Assist in creating a welcoming, patient-focused clinical environment Support anxious patients and those with special needs to ensure a comfortable dental experience What We're Looking For Current registration as an Oral Health Therapist or Dental Hygienist with the Dental Board of Australia New graduates are encouraged to apply Previous clinical experience in oral health therapy or dental hygiene is highly regarded A genuine interest in periodontal assessment, treatment, and long-term maintenance care Strong knowledge of preventative dentistry and oral health promotion Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Confidence using dental technology and radiographic equipment Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care Understanding of infection control protocols and workplace health and safety requirements Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain Experience in a general dental practice setting is advantageous but not essential What We Offer At Mandurah North Dental, we are committed to creating a supportive and professional workplace where our team members can thrive.
