About the Position: The Supply and Distribution Manager plays a pivotal role at Melbourne Truss by overseeing the procurement, storage, inventory management and distribution of materials and finished products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position ensures seamless logistics for timber supplies and prefabricated components, coordinating timely deliveries to construction sites while optimising costs and maintaining stock levels. Critical to operational efficiency, the role supports the company's commitment to reliable output and customer satisfaction in the building industry. Key Responsibilities: Determine, implement and monitor purchasing, storage and distribution strategies, policies and plans. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements. Manage inventory systems to maintain optimal stock levels at minimum cost, including tracking movements of raw materials and finished goods. Oversee transportation and delivery logistics to ensure timely and efficient distribution to customers. Liaise with production, sales and external stakeholders regarding supply requirements and outbound goods. Monitor and review storage facilities and inventory controls to comply with safety and operational standards.
