About the Position: This full-time Retail Manager (General) role has been created to professionalise the day-to-day operations of the Subway store, reducing the current heavy reliance on the business owner. Reporting directly to the owner/franchisee, the Retail Manager will take full responsibility for leading operations, staff management, compliance, inventory, and customer service excellence. This key leadership position will enable the business to operate independently and sustainably, supporting long-term growth and allowing the owner to focus on strategic development. Key Responsibilities: Organise, direct and control the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure efficient and profitable performance in line with Subway franchise standards. Manage inventory levels, purchasing, stock control, and wastage to maintain optimal product availability and quality. Lead staff recruitment, training, rostering, supervision, and performance management to build a capable and motivated team. Uphold exceptional customer service standards, resolve complaints promptly, and monitor feedback to drive continuous improvement. Ensure full compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, franchise policies, and all regulatory requirements. Monitor sales, labour costs, and operational expenses, implementing strategies to improve profitability and efficiency. Oversee marketing activities, promotional campaigns, and third-party delivery platforms to support business growth. Manage operational issues, staff shortages, and day-to-day decision-making to ensure business continuity without constant owner involvement. Minimum Diploma in Business Management, Retail Management or Hospitality Management (particularly for fast food or quick service restaurants). Minimum 1 year in retail food management, with strong leadership and people management skills.
