The Role Stepping into a sophisticated defendant insurance practice, you will manage complex, high-stakes matters with a high degree of autonomy. Key responsibilities include: End-to-End File Management : Autonomously driving strategic, high-value defendant insurance claims from inception to resolution. Strategic Advice : Preparing advice on indemnity, liability, and quantum. Litigation & Advocacy : Preparing court pleadings, briefing counsel, and appearing at mediations and in court. Client Engagement : Acting as a key point of contact for major corporate insurers, developing deep, trusted-advisor relationships. Mentorship : Actively supervising, mentoring, and developing talented junior lawyers within the practice. About You This role is ideally suited to an energetic Senior Associate (typically 5 years’ PQE) who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. To be successful, you will bring: Demonstrated experience in defendant insurance litigation (e.g., General Insurance, Professional Indemnity, Public/Product Liability, or Specialty Lines) from a reputable practice. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly, concisely, and commercially. A strong, professional demeanour and a proven track record of meeting strict court and insurer deadlines. A genuine interest in team mentorship, practice development, and working collaboratively.
