Contribute to community safety and rehabilitation of individuals in our care Training, learning and development opportunities throughout your career Full time, ongoing position based in Mildura About us Community Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending and connect individuals to programs, services and community. CCS provides management of individuals on court orders, people who have committed serious sex offences on post sentence supervision and prisoners on parole. Court Assessment & Prosecutions (CAPs) Officers conduct a range of activities including conducting court assessments to determine an individual's suitability for a court order, facilitating the variation or cancellation of an order, or prosecuting individuals who fail to comply with their orders. CAPS Officers also provide high quality evidence-based advice to the judiciary in relation to sentencing and liaise with a range of stakeholders in order to deliver the best outcomes for individuals and the community. To be successful in this role, you will have: experience or knowledge of court processes, prosecutions or related areas capability to provide evidence-based advice and recommendations to the court that maximise offender responsiveness interventions strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills an ability to manage individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours and escalate as required experience in conducting risk and needs assessments, and developing targeted interventions to support individuals involved in court proceedings (desirable) strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload. A relevant qualification in social work, law, human services, criminal justice or criminology and experience in a court advice, assessments or prosecutions field is also desirable.
