Position Purpose The purpose of a disability support worker is to support people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities to achieve their goals and aspirations. Key accountabilities and responsibilities Work under the direction of others and apply your skills to meet client personal needs and person-centered goals in accordance with the NDIS Practise Standards & Quality Indicators Comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct & Tulgeen Code of Conduct to support participants to meet their needs in ways that are respectful and inclusive. Responding flexibly to participant preferences: Provide assistance with accessing the community including for shopping, medical visits, financial management, social inclusion programs and social outings Provide assistance with all aspects of daily life including personal, care, continence and hygiene, meal preparation, budgeting / financial responsibilities, domestic chores, transport and other needs according to clients’ goals. Provide emotional and social support Assist participants with medication. Apply principles of positive behaviour support when supporting participants to implement their behaviour support plan. Support participants to build the confidence and skills to develop social networks and connections. At all times work cooperatively with other team members to achieve quality outcomes. Maintain a clean and safe workplace, and comply with all role related health and safety policies and procedures. Demonstrate punctuality and meet agreed schedules and timelines. Adhere to organisation policies, procedures, and guidelines. Complete other related tasks as reasonably requested.
