Job details $125p/h plus superannuation Location: Brisbane Monday to Friday Required to be on site for shutdown executions (3/1 at 10-12 hour days) About the Client Our client is a premier provider of integrated maintenance, shutdown execution, and specialist isolation services to Tier-1 asset owners in the Australian energy sector. Following their recent corporate acquisition, our client continues to leverage their elite workforce and proprietary technology to deliver critical operational support to major oil and gas facilities. About the Position The role is responsible for ensuring shutdowns are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget, while coordinating contractors, managing daily operations, and overseeing post-shutdown reporting and close-out activities. Experience in the Oil & Gas industry or a similar heavy industrial environment is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Lead the safe and successful execution of planned shutdowns from mobilisation through to close-out. Monitor shutdown progress to ensure work is delivered on schedule and within budget. Promote and maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and IMS requirements. Coordinate contractors, site personnel, and key stakeholders throughout the shutdown. Chair daily shutdown meetings and provide regular progress reports to management. Manage contractor performance and resolve operational issues as they arise. Support emergency response activities and act as the on-site point of control when required. Oversee post-shutdown activities, including demobilisation, documentation, lessons learned, and final cost reporting. Experience Required Demonstrated experience leading major shutdowns, turnarounds, or outage events in the Oil & Gas or a similar heavy industrial environment. Proven ability to manage shutdown schedules, budgets, and contractor performance. Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and liaising with key stakeholders. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure operational environment. Experience with shutdown planning, execution, and post-shutdown close-out activities. Relevant trade qualification or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline (desirable).
