We are looking for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner – Operations to join our Finance team based in Bairnsdale VIC 3875. This role reports to FP&A and partners closely with Operations, Commercial and Site teams to provide accurate financial reporting, meaningful insights and practical commercial support. This is a true business partnering role where you will turn data into insight, insight into action, and action into measurable business improvement. Description As the Finance Business Partner – Operations , you will play a key role in supporting operational and commercial performance across the business. You will be responsible for: Preparing daily, weekly and monthly reporting on operating performance, including sales, margin and site overheads. Supporting budgeting and reforecasting processes for commercial and site operations. Preparing, maintaining and reviewing product standard costings. Completing balance sheet controls in a timely and accurate manner, including fixed assets, stock, accruals and prepayments. Partnering with operational leaders to provide clear, data-driven insights that support improved performance and better decision-making. Analysing financial trends, risks and opportunities and providing practical recommendations to improve cost, margin and operational outcomes. Supporting post-launch reviews with actual cost analysis, standard cost insights, agreed variance commentary and margin performance analysis. Providing Pareto analysis to support SKU, product and account management decisions. Improving the efficiency, reliability and integrity of financial systems and reporting processes, including Costings, LDE, WMS and PowerBI. Supporting the transition to PowerBI reporting and contributing to a single source of truth for reporting and insights. Upholding strong financial governance, internal controls, company policies and audit requirements. Participating in internal audits and post-capex reviews. Championing Zero Harm programs and contributing to a positive safety culture. This is not just a reporting role. It is a hands-on commercial finance role where your insights will directly support operational performance, cost control, margin improvement and better business outcomes. Skills And Experiences The successful candidate will bring the following skills & qualifications: Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business or a related discipline. CPA, CA or equivalent recognised accounting qualification, or currently working towards qualification. Minimum 5 - 10 years’ experience in an accounting, finance or commercial finance role. Strong financial analysis, reporting, reconciliation, budgeting and forecasting skills. Strong Microsoft Excel capability and ability to work with large data sets. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders. Commercial acumen, attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset. Desirable experience includes FMCG, manufacturing, food production or another operational environment, as well as exposure to Power BI, ERP, costing, warehouse management or operational reporting systems.
