THE ROLE The Principal Adviser is responsible for the management of strategic projects, fostering key internal and external relationships, event management, change management processes, area communications and the provision of high-level support to the Area Executive Director and the area executive. This is achieved by: providing internal consultancy to members of the area executive undertaking and managing projects in areas of specific importance and innovation undertaking research and coordinating the collection of evidence and data which support innovation and service improvement developing and maintaining strong and effective relationships with stakeholders across the department and the sector. supporting the Division and Area in both internal and external strategic planning processes. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Lead key projects on behalf of the area or Area Executive Director, ensuring that project outcomes align with government and departmental objectives. Provide high-level expertise and authoritative advice, including autonomously where required, ensuring that any advice conforms to departmental or divisional guidelines, plans, protocols or frameworks. Provide leadership, guidance, and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, and submissions on complex matters.
