Job Description About the position: The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality, culturally safe primary health care services within the clinic, working collaboratively with GPs and the multidisciplinary team. The role provides clinical care, health assessments, chronic disease management and health promotion while ensuring safe, effective and efficient delivery of services in accordance with clinical standards and organisational policies. More specifically, this role will focus on key activities, including but not limited to: Delivering comprehensive primary health care services, including triage, health assessments, wound care, immunisations and routine clinical procedures. Supporting chronic disease management through health monitoring, care planning and ongoing client follow-up. Providing health promotion, education and preventative care to individuals, families and the wider community. Coordinating referrals and working collaboratively with GPs, visiting specialists, hospitals and other health providers to ensure continuity of care. Maintaining safe clinical practices, including infection control, medication management, vaccine cold chain management and clinical equipment. Accurately maintaining client records, supporting Medicare billing processes and ensuring confidentiality of health information. Contributing to a positive team environment by mentoring students and colleagues, participating in quality improvement activities and maintaining professional standards. Desired Skills and Experience About you: To be successful in this position, we are seeking an individual who possesses the following: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and a current practising certificate – essential. Nursing Degree or higher – essential. Demonstrated experience in a clinical or primary health care setting, with strong clinical assessment and nursing skills. Sound understanding of the principles of primary health care and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, older persons, families and a range of health professionals. Demonstrated experience using business technology, electronic patient record systems and other clinical software. Current CPR and First Aid Certificate – essential. Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence – essential. Satisfactory Criminal History Check – essential. Current Blue Card (Working with Children) or willingness to obtain – essential. Some work outside normal business hours and travel across the region may be required. Current influenza vaccination and compliance with GRAICCHS Vaccination Policy – essential. Immunisation endorsement and experience – desirable.
