Your new company A well-established notforprofit organisation located in the heart of the Sydney CBD is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its close-knit finance team. Your new role Reporting to the senior finance leadership team and working within a small team, you will support the day-to-day finance function with a focus on accounts payable and receivable. Your responsibilities will include: Managing accounts payable and receivable inboxes and responding to queries. Processing supplier invoices and preparing weekly payment runs. Allocating payments and maintaining accurate financial records. Issuing invoices and statements and monitoring outstanding balances. Following up on overdue accounts and supporting debtor management. Assisting with month-end reporting processes. Providing general administrative and financial support across the team. This is a hands-on role offering broad exposure across transactional accounting in a busy environment. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will bring: Previous experience in accounts payable and receivable or a similar role. Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work. Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage internal and external enquiries. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience in a hospitality or service-based environment will be advantageous but not essential.
