The Role Working hand-in-hand with an experienced Project Engineer and Project Manager, you will play a critical role in managing day-to-day operations on site. This role is ideal for an ambitious engineering professional ready to take full ownership of civil and structural packages, drive technical compliance, and fast-track their development into a Project Engineer pathway. Key Responsibilities Site Management & Coordination: Oversee and schedule daily sub-contractor activities, ensuring site works align precisely with construction schedules, architectural layouts, and engineering specifications. Quality Assurance (QA): Establish, manage, and sign off on rigorous QA frameworks and checklists, ensuring high-quality, defect-free handovers. Technical & Engineering Support: Thoroughly review design variations, resolve site queries via the RFI process, and collaborate with engineers to solve technical challenges practically. Safety & Compliance: Promote, monitor, and enforce a strict culture of site safety, ensuring all SWMS, OHS procedures, and building codes are rigidly followed. Procurement Support: Coordinate site material orders, track sub-contractor progress claims, and manage delivery logistics to ensure uninterrupted project momentum. Skills & Experience Required A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. 2–4 years of proven experience as a Site Engineer with an Australian principal contractor (experience on large-scale industrial builds, commercial developments, or complex structural projects is highly regarded). Solid understanding of site safety practices, local building standards, and quality management systems. Sharp technical acumen with the ability to interpret complex architectural, structural, and services drawings. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a sharp eye for detail.
