We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Treatment Plant Operator to join our Water and Wastewater team. This hands-on role is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of our water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant treatment processes that support our community. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating plant and equipment, and taking pride in maintaining essential infrastructure. About the Role As a Treatment Plant Operator, you will be responsible for: Operating water and wastewater treatment plants safely and efficiently. Monitoring treatment plant performance and making operational adjustments as required. Reading meters, gauges and instrumentation and accurately recording operational data. Conducting routine laboratory testing and process monitoring. Adjusting chemical dosing and treatment equipment to maintain optimal plant performance. Maintaining treatment plant records and preparing operational reports. Performing routine housekeeping to ensure treatment facilities remain clean and well maintained. Operating, maintaining and inspecting plant, machinery and equipment. Assisting other water and wastewater operations teams, including pump attendant relief duties when required. About You To be successful in this role you will: Have a strong commitment to workplace health and safety. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Have sound problem-solving and decision-making skills. Be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Be willing to work around wastewater and treatment chemicals while following appropriate safety procedures. Hold relevant licenses and/or experience operating equipment such as forklifts and loaders (desirable). Hours of Work Monday to Friday 6:30am – 3:30pm 9-day fortnight 20-minute paid morning break and 30-minute lunch break Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding role (Heavy Duties) and applicants must be able to safely perform tasks including: Lift and carry up to 25kg. Lower loads of up to 35kg from waist height to floor. Frequent standing and walking throughout the day. Frequent reaching and repetitive hand movements. Occasional pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling and overhead work. Occasional stair and ladder climbing.
