An exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced Practice Manager/Senior Medical Secretary to deliver high-quality patient care and administrative support in a busy Specialist practice. The position is offered on a permanent part-time basis, located in the east with all-day parking nearby and offering competitive remuneration. Days/hours: • Tuesday – 8.30 am to 5.00 pm • Wednesday and Friday – 8.30 am to 1.00 pm This position requires a hands-on, high-quality approach to customer service, with the ability to confidently support adolescent and paediatric patients and their families, including managing complex mental health issues with empathy and professionalism. Strong attention to detail, excellent telephone communication skills, flexibility, and solid computer literacy are essential. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a calm, professional manner. The role offers a high level of variety and includes responsibility for overseeing and supporting fellow staff members, including a "Trained Therapy Dog." It also requires flexibility and adaptability in managing a diverse and changing workload. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Typing of patient letters (AI may be an option in the future). Running of consulting sessions. Managing 2 part-time admin staff members. Processing Medicare accounts. Accepting and receipt of payments. Order practice/office supplies (consulting with principal). Ensure all patients have current referrals. Scheduling patients' consult appointments. Use of electronic health record Coreplus. Open and close duties. Essential criteria: Experienced Practice Manager (Previous experience in a similar role). Strong Medical Audiotyping skills with solid knowledge of medical terminology. Mature outlook, empathetic, caring and kind nature, Ability to deal with patients with complex mental health issues Clear communicator Familiar with Medicare item numbers Understand and adhere to patient confidentiality. Computer literacy Reliable, punctual, professional outlook.
