About the job Seasonal Sports Physiotherapist Roles 4 Month Contract Sydney, NSW May - September 2026 Weekend field coverage across Sydney About the opportunity HD Physiotherapy and its sister company Physiomedic are seeking dedicated Sports Physiotherapists to join our field coverage team for the 2026 winter sports season. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across both elite and community sporting environments, providing high-quality on-field care and injury management to athletes and teams throughout Sydney. You will be involved in coverage across: Senior Premier AFL competitions Rugby Union private school and senior club competitions Junior AFL, Rugby and Football programs Key requirements Successful applicants will demonstrate: Availability to commit to the full 5 to 6-month season, April to September Weekend availability for coverage across various Sydney suburbs Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in physiotherapy. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Current First Aid and CPR certification A valid Working With Children Check WWCC Strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism A genuine passion for sport, athlete care and injury prevention Proven experience in sports physiotherapy and community health. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive both independently and as part of our dynamic multidisciplinary team. A genuine passion for sports and a commitment to community health. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Competency in: Bandaging and basic wound management Managing acute sporting injuries in high-pressure environments Identifying fractures, sprains and strains Concussion assessment and management Understanding Rugby Australia's return to play protocols What you will gain Practical sports coverage experience across multiple codes and competition levels Mentorship from an experienced Sports Physiotherapist working closely with NRLW and Hockey NSW programs, supported by an established team across AFL and Rugby Sevens Professional development within both high-performance and community sporting environments Exposure to on-field injury management, athlete communication and return to play decision making A supportive, structured and collaborative team culture
