Location - NSW, Newcastle Australian Citizens with NV1 Clearance Length of Contract: 3 months The role closes on: 8th July 2026 Deliverables / Key Responsibilities Provide technical data advice and guidance across the program to ensure quality and compliance accountability with relevant legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks. Provide expert advice on Technical Publications development and delivery, compliant with the applicable Australian standards. Provide insight into the development and/or amendment of technical data artefacts through Program Increment Planning and execution; Contribute to the development and delivery of technical data management to meet Defence's Integrated Air and Missile Defence objectives; Experience/Skills Sought: Defence or parallel civilian engineering or product support disciplines, or Other relevant military or civilian leadership, executive or management roles. Prior roles will have allowed demonstrated success in technical data management and/or coordination of technical data personnel, teams and processes in complex and challenging environments. Prior experience would demonstrate an ability to rapidly assimilate and apply concepts within Defence The Program Technical Data Lead will apply proven aptitude and skills to rapidly learn to draft high quality Defence documentation including plans and concepts, pay attention to accuracy and detail, apply capability-centred data thinking, demonstrate initiative to work independently within the management structure, and perform to meet high standards. They will demonstrate solid analytical skills, strengths in critical thinking, be well organised and able to set realistic goals and schedules, identify and manage risks, issue and opportunities, communicate well in writing and in person, and be able to form strong respectful relationships with peers, subordinates, superiors and a broad stakeholder base. Experience in a similar role in data management, preferably in Defence or Defence Industry Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate field that meet the requirements of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
