We're looking for a motivated and analytical Scheduler to join our Service Planning team. What You’ll Be Doing As a Scheduler, you'll support the planning and optimisation of our bus network by developing efficient timetables and schedules that balance customer needs, operational performance, and regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and maintaining bus timetables, vehicle schedules, crew rosters, and scheduling data within HASTUS Managing scheduling datasets and maintaining the integrity of scheduling files Analysing operational performance including patronage, running times, delays, and on-time running Supporting service planning activities including route design, timetable improvements, and network adjustments Developing cost-effective, practical, and compliant scheduling solutions Using scheduling and modelling tools to test service scenarios and identify opportunities for improvement. Monitoring network performance and recommending timetable changes where required Supporting planning for special events, disruptions, and seasonal service changes Ensuring schedules comply with fatigue management requirements, industrial agreements, and operational policies Preparing reports, dashboards, and performance insights for internal stakeholders Working closely with Operations, Depot teams, Drivers, and Network Planning to deliver practical scheduling outcomes Why This Role is Exciting This role offers the opportunity to contribute to services that thousands of passengers rely on every day while building your expertise in public transport planning. Build your career within one of Australia's leading transport operators Contribute to projects that improve efficiency, customer experience, and operational performance What We’re Looking For We're seeking someone who enjoys analysing data, solving operational challenges, and working collaboratively across multiple teams Essential Skills & Experience Experience using HASTUS scheduling software Knowledge of bus scheduling, timetabling, vehicle scheduling, and rostering Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and data analysis Ability to interpret operational data and translate findings into practical scheduling solutions Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Desirable Experience using Power BI or similar reporting tools Knowledge of public transport operations and service planning Understanding of fatigue management, industrial agreements, and operational compliance Experience in transport, logistics, or scheduling environments What Success Looks Like Success in this role will include: Accurate and efficient bus timetables and schedules Improved on-time running and network reliability Effective utilisation of buses, drivers, and operational resources Practical scheduling solutions that balance customer service and operational efficiency High-quality reporting and data-driven recommendations Strong collaboration with Operations and Depot teams About Us In partnership with the Government, Transit Systems NSW innovates, designs and delivers public transport solutions that attract customers because they are easy to use, reliable, convenient and safe.
