The Role We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager or Senior Advisor to join the business on an initial 2-month temporary contract, with the potential to extend. This role has been created to support the leadership team during a site closure project, providing hands-on safety leadership, risk management expertise, and practical guidance throughout the transition. As a key member of the site leadership team, you will play a critical role in identifying and managing risk, supporting operational leaders, maintaining compliance, and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance are upheld during a period of change. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation of Health, Safety & Environment initiatives to support the site through a period of operational change. Partner closely with the leadership team to provide expert advice on risk management, safety compliance, and safe work practices. Conduct risk assessments and identify opportunities to minimise operational and safety risks during the site closure process. Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively. Maintain compliance with relevant HSE legislation, regulations, and company standards. Monitor, analyse, and report on HSE performance, providing recommendations for continuous improvement. Drive a visible and proactive safety culture, ensuring strong engagement across the workforce. About You Proven experience in a Health, Safety & Environment role within FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, distribution, or a similar operational environment. Strong understanding of risk management, safety systems, and legislative requirements. Demonstrated ability to influence and support leadership teams through periods of change. Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to build credibility and relationships across all levels of the organisation. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, and implementing corrective actions. Ability to work autonomously and adapt quickly within a fast-paced environment. A collaborative and solutions-focused mindset with a genuine passion for safety.
