Reporting to the General Manager – Property, this role will oversee the end-to-end capital works program across both Amart and Freedom Furniture, including new stores, refurbishments, right-sizing projects and developer-led builds. Capital Works Program Management Lead the end-to-end delivery of capital works projects across new stores, fit outs, refurbishments and replacement stores Manage program governance including schedules, budgets, reporting and risk management Oversee portfolio reporting, project performance and makegood obligations across the brands Strategic Input & New Store Development Provide expert advice on design, constructability, cost and delivery risk during feasibility and planning stages Support new store and replacement store assessments from a capital works perspective Assist in reviewing Agreements for Lease and project obligations Contribute to annual capital planning and long-term project strategy Project Delivery – Fitout & Developer-Led Builds Manage projects from initiation through to completion and defects resolution Oversee project scopes, budgets, timelines, approvals and contractor performance Ensure compliance across construction standards, fire compliance, WHS and regulatory requirements Drive quality outcomes across store layouts, fit outs and new concept rollouts Financial Management Manage project and portfolio-level budgets, cashflow forecasting and reforecasting Monitor project financial performance and provide variance reporting Identify value-engineering opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance outcomes People Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor and develop the capital works project team Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and leadership teams Support team capability growth and future workforce planning as project volumes expand Compliance, WHS & Risk Ensure all projects comply with WHS legislation, environmental regulations and building codes Promote a safety-first and compliant project delivery culture Proactively manage project risks and escalate key issues where required What We’re Looking For Experience 7–10 years’ client-side project management experience Background in retail, commercial fit out, or developer-led construction projects Proven experience delivering multiple concurrent projects and managing capital works budgets Previous leadership experience managing project teams Technical Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of the full project management lifecycle Deep knowledge of fit out construction, design coordination and compliance requirements Experience reviewing Agreements for Lease, development deeds and construction contracts Proficiency in Microsoft Project (or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite Formal Project Management qualifications (PMP, AIPM or similar) preferred Leadership & Interpersonal Skills Hands-on, commercially astute and solutions-focused leader Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities Collaborative mindset with a strong focus on accountability and outcomes Why Join Us?
