As we continue to grow and support our customers with high-quality engineered solutions, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the team at our Mackay workshop. About the Role Based in Paget, Mackay, this role reports directly to the Workshop Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance, servicing, repair, and assembly of conveyor systems, structures, and associated components while ensuring all work meets customer specifications and company quality standards. This position offers a 4-day rostered work week, providing an excellent opportunity to achieve a strong work-life balance. Key Responsibilities includes, Perform general mechanical fitting tasks within the workshop Fit and align gearboxes and motors, including laser alignment Install and remove couplings and complete general assembly of conveyor equipment and components Carry out mechanical maintenance, servicing, and repairs on conveyor systems Diagnose and fault-find mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance Inspect, analyse, and record critical mechanical information during refurbishment activities Maintain and operate mechanical workshop equipment safely and effectively Provide practical mechanical solutions to customer equipment issues Ensure all work meets required quality standards and customer specifications Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings About You To be successful in this role, you will hold a trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter and have a minimum of three years’ experience in mechanical fitting within a heavy industrial environment. Your experience will include but not limited to the assembly of conveyor equipment and components, fitment and alignment of gearboxes and motors, laser alignment and the installation and removal of couplings. You will have good technical knowledge within the industry and have the ability to work effectively within a team environment but also independently when required. Show good attention to detail and demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards, supported by well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. A current forklift licence, overhead crane, basic dogging or rigging ticket will be advantageous. The successful candidate will also be flexible and willing to work overtime when required.
