Databricks Architect – Sydney or Perth - 12 Month Contract - $1,000 per day - Immediate Start Morgan Consulting are partnering with a leading organisation seeking a Databricks Architect on a 12 month daily rate contract to play a key role in shaping and delivering a modern enterprise data platform on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. This is a high impact contract opportunity to design scalable lakehouse architectures, establish governance frameworks, and define enterprise-grade reference patterns across customer data platforms. About the Role As a Databricks Architect, you will be responsible for designing and governing modern data architectures that enable advanced analytics, AI, and customer insights at scale. You will lead the design of medallion (Bronze / Silver / Gold) architectures, establish best practice patterns, and work closely with senior stakeholders to drive alignment across business and technology teams. This is a hands on architecture role with strong stakeholder engagement, requiring you to bridge business outcomes with technical execution. What You Will Do Architecture & Platform Design Design and implement medallion (Bronze / Silver / Gold) lakehouse architectures on Databricks Define reference architectures, patterns, and standards for the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform Architect scalable, secure, and high-performing customer data platforms Guide engineering teams on best practice design and implementation Governance & Data Strategy Design and implement data governance frameworks including security, access control, and data quality Establish standards for data modelling, lineage, and lifecycle management Drive adoption of Unity Catalog and modern governance practices Ensure compliance with enterprise security and data policies Databricks & Data Engineering Leadership Provide hands-on leadership across Spark, PySpark, Delta Lake, and data pipelines Architect solutions leveraging Databricks, Azure/AWS data services, and integration platforms Define patterns for batch and streaming data processing Optimise performance, scalability, and cost across the platform Stakeholder Engagement Engage with senior business and technology stakeholders to define data strategy and architecture Translate business requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions Work closely with data engineers, BI teams, and data scientists Lead architecture discussions, design forums, and decision making processes Customer Data Platforms Design and implement customer centric data platforms (CDP) Enable single customer view, segmentation, and advanced analytics use cases Support downstream AI/ML and personalisation initiatives What You Will Bring Proven experience as a Databricks Architect with strong expertise in: Databricks (core platform) Delta Lake & Medallion architecture design PySpark/Spark performance optimisation Experience designing enterprise scale data platforms and lakehouse architectures Strong understanding of: Data governance, security, and access control Data modelling (dimensional/lakehouse patterns) Batch and streaming data architectures Experience across cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Experience designing customer data platforms highly desirable Why Join $1,000 per day contract 12 month engagement with strong extension potential Work on a modern Databricks Data Intelligence Platform Influence enterprise data strategy and architecture High visibility role with senior stakeholder engagement Opportunity to shape next generation customer data capability If you are a Databricks Architect with strong stakeholder skills and a passion for designing modern data platforms, we would love to hear from you.
