The business services both local customers and travellers, requiring strong day-to-day management, customer service, stock control, staff supervision and operational compliance. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Retail Manager to manage the daily operations of the business. About the Role The Retail Manager will be responsible for the smooth and profitable operation of the business, including staff supervision, customer service, stock control, cash handling, sales monitoring, compliance, supplier liaison and day-to-day operational management. Key Responsibilities The duties of the role include, but are not limited to: Managing and overseeing daily business operations Supervising, training, rostering and supporting staff Allocating staff duties and monitoring staff performance Maintaining high customer service standards Handling customer enquiries and complaints professionally Managing stock levels, ordering, deliveries and stock rotation Monitoring pricing, product displays and merchandising standards Minimising stock loss, wastage and shrinkage Managing cash handling, point-of-sale operations, reconciliations and banking Monitoring sales performance, costs and margins Preparing or assisting with operational reports as required Maintaining a clean, safe and well-presented workplace Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and business procedures Liaising with suppliers, contractors and service providers Reporting operational, staffing, safety or maintenance issues to management Supporting the overall smooth running of the business Skills and Experience Required The successful applicant should have: At least 1–2 years of relevant full-time experience in retail management, service station operations, convenience store management, hospitality management or a similar role Strong leadership and staff supervision skills Experience in stock control, ordering and inventory management Experience in customer service and sales monitoring Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills Ability to manage a fast-paced customer service environment Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays Previous experience in a retail, hospitality, service station or roadhouse environment will be highly regarded Personal Attributes The successful applicant should be: Reliable and responsible Positive, hands-on and customer-focused Able to work effectively under pressure Well organised with strong attention to detail Flexible and willing to support different areas of the business Professional in dealing with customers, staff, suppliers and management Willing to work in a regional location How to Apply Applicants should submit their resume and a brief cover letter outlining their suitability for the role.
