The Opportunity As a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist Radiologist, you will: Provide high-quality diagnostic and interventional imaging services Support patient-centred care across inpatient and outpatient services Contribute to education and supervision of registrars, junior doctors, medical students, and allied health staff Participate in audit, research, quality improvement, and service planning initiatives Work within a collaborative and collegial multidisciplinary team environment This role offers excellent clinical diversity and the opportunity to contribute to a growing regional imaging service. About the Department The Medical Imaging Department provides a comprehensive range of services including: General Radiography Computed Tomography (CT) Ultrasound Interventional Radiology Fluoroscopy Cardiac Catheter Laboratory Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Theatre Imaging Services The department also supports remote rural reporting services across the region, including CT services at Bowen and Proserpine. Current team structure includes: 5 Radiologists 4 Sonographers 4 FTE Consultants 1.5 FTE RANZCR Trainees 2 FTE Unaccredited Registrars Mackay Base Hospital is a Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists accredited training site within the Queensland Radiology Training Network, offering strong involvement in registrar education and supervision.
