Role purpose Responsible for the hands-on installation of 12V power systems and off-grid electrical products into vehicles, canopies, trailers, caravans, demo displays, and retail store fixtures. This role supports KickAss Products by delivering high-quality installations across company vehicles, partner vehicles, demo canopies, retail store displays, and educational content projects. Key responsibilities 12V system installation Install 12V batteries, lithium battery systems, DC-DC chargers, solar regulators, inverters, dual battery systems, switch panels, power distribution systems, and related accessories. Complete installations in KickAss company vehicles, demo vehicles, partner vehicles, canopies, trailers, caravans, and other off-grid setups. Ensure all installations are completed to a high standard with safe wiring practices, clean cable management, correct fuse protection, and reliable system performance. Diagnose and resolve basic installation issues during fit-out, testing, and commissioning. Follow installation guides, wiring diagrams, product manuals, and internal technical standards. Demo canopies, displays and retail store support Build and install 12V systems into demo canopies, retail displays, trade show displays, and showroom fixtures. Maintain and upgrade retail demonstration units so they are clean, functional, safe, and presentation-ready. Assist with preparing display systems for new store openings, events, expos, product launches, and training sessions. Support the creation of practical, working examples that help customers understand KickAss products. Content and education support Assist with installations used for product education, training, and marketing content. Be comfortable being filmed or photographed while completing installations for how-to videos, product demonstrations, social media content, training material, and customer education. Work with the content, marketing, and product teams to demonstrate correct installation techniques and product use cases. Help identify practical installation tips, common customer questions, and useful content ideas based on real-world experience. Product and technical feedback Provide feedback to the product and technical teams on installation experience, product usability, accessories, wiring kits, instructions, and customer pain points. Identify opportunities to improve product design, installation guides, bundles, kits, and retail displays. Report any recurring product, fitment, or installation issues clearly and promptly. Workshop, tools and safety Maintain a clean, organised, and safe installation workspace. Use tools, testing equipment, and workshop resources responsibly. Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times. Ensure vehicles, displays, and customer or partner property are treated with care and respect. Keep accurate records of work completed, parts used, and installation notes where required. Skills and experience Essential Practical experience installing 12V systems, automotive electrical accessories, dual battery systems, or similar vehicle-based electrical products. Strong understanding of basic 12V electrical principles including positive and negative circuits, fusing, cable sizing, battery charging, and power distribution. Experience working on 4WDs, utes, canopies, caravans, trailers, or touring setups. Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams, installation guides, and technical instructions. High attention to detail and pride in clean, professional workmanship. Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, crimpers, multimeters, and general workshop equipment. Willingness to be involved in filmed educational and marketing content. Strong communication skills and a practical, can-do attitude. Ability to work on-site in a hands-on, full-time role. Desirable Auto electrical qualification or relevant trade experience. Experience with lithium batteries, DC-DC chargers, solar panels, inverters, battery monitors, and off-grid power systems. Experience installing products into 4WD touring vehicles, work vehicles, canopies, caravans, or camper trailers. Previous experience supporting retail displays, trade shows, workshops, or product demonstrations. Forklift licence, manual driver's licence, or other relevant tickets.
