An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an experienced General Sales Manager to lead a high-performing sales department at their dealership located in Ringwood. About the Role Reporting directly to the Dealer Principal, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the vehicle sales operation, driving profitability, customer satisfaction, and team performance. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will mentor and develop a team of Sales Managers, Sales Consultants, and support staff while ensuring the dealership consistently achieves its sales objectives. Key Responsibilities Lead, motivate, and develop the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets Drive new and used vehicle sales performance, profitability, and market share growth Monitor key dealership performance indicators and implement strategies for continuous improvement Manage stock levels and inventory to maximise sales opportunities and minimise ageing stock Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained throughout the sales process Recruit, coach, and mentor sales staff to support career development and retention Work closely with Finance & Insurance, Service, and Marketing departments to maximise dealership performance Develop and execute sales strategies to drive business growth and customer acquisition Maintain strong relationships with manufacturer representatives and ensure compliance with franchise standards Prepare reports, forecasts, and budgets for senior management About You Proven experience as a General Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager, or similar leadership role within a franchised automotive dealership Strong track record of achieving sales targets and delivering profitable results Exceptional leadership and people management skills High-level communication, negotiation, and customer relationship skills Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data and drive performance improvements Ability to lead from the front in a fast-paced dealership environment Well-developed organisational and time management skills Professional, driven, and passionate about the automotive industry Experience using dealership management systems and reporting tools What's on Offer Attractive salary package including a generous retainer, commissions, and company vehicle Opportunity to lead a successful and established dealership operation Supportive senior leadership team and strong manufacturer backing Excellent career progression opportunities within a growing automotive group A positive and professional dealership culture focused on success and development For further information please contact Kirra Cude on 0480 004 950 quoting job number AF8219 .
