With a strong international presence, we are active in over 110 countries, supported by our subsidiaries, production sites and a broad network of distribution and service partners. We are looking for an experienced Managing Director to lead our operation in Australia. This full-time role will be based in Sydney. The Managing Director is responsible for the overall leadership, development, and performance of the Australian business and will establish, structure, and scale a direct operating model across commercial, service, customer support, and operational functions. This includes building and managing the necessary organisational capabilities, processes, and teams, while ensuring alignment with global standards and sustainable business growth. Key tasks and responsibilities: General Management & P&L Ownership Lead, manage and direct overall business operations across Australia, with full responsibility for commercial strategy, revenue growth, operational performance, and market expansion. Develop and execute long-term regional strategic plans aligned with global corporate objectives and market growth initiatives Oversee Australian business planning, financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and profit and loss (P&L) management for the Australian operations. Full accountability for the financial performance of the Australian entity (revenue, cost base, profitability) Lead annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements Act as Company Director and local legal representative Establish and manage a scalable organisational structure across all key functions Commercial Leadership (Sales & Marketing) Define and execute the commercial strategy and business planning for Australia Build, structure, and lead a direct sales organisation Implement and oversee pipeline management, forecasting, and key account management frameworks Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, clinicians, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) Drive clinical adoption through procedural engagement, workshops, and congress participation (via the team) Maintain full accountability for commercial results while delegating execution as the organization grows Customer Service & Commercial Operations Establish and lead a customer service function responsible for order management and customer support Define processes, KPIs, and service standards Ensure high-quality and responsive customer interactions delivered through the team Logistics & Supply Chain Management Set up and oversee logistics and distribution operations in collaboration with an appointed 3PL partner Define operating models for inventory management, order fulfillment, and delivery performance Ensure operational excellence through team and external partners Service Organisation Establish and lead the local technical service function Define organizational structure, processes, and capability requirements Ensure delivery of installation, maintenance, and after-sales support aligned with global standards Systems, Processes & Reporting Implement and oversee ERP and CRM systems to support business operations Ensure data quality, reporting accuracy, and pipeline visibility Provide regular reporting to VP APAC on financial, commercial, and operational performance Organisational Build & Market Development Direct Australian marketing and commercial initiatives to strengthen brand positioning, customer engagement, and market penetration across Australia Build, hire, and develop a high-performing local organisation across functions Define clear responsibilities and interfaces between departments Ensure alignment with global organisation and standards Identify and execute opportunities for market expansion and growth Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Master's degree in business administration or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a medical field; At least 12 months experience in general manager or managing director positions; At least 6 years' experience in senior sales and technical roles, ideally in the medical technology industry. Proven track record in commercial leadership, sales execution, and team development Solid understanding of clinical workflows and procedure room dynamics Demonstrated experience with P&L responsibility or equivalent commercial accountability Experience in organisational build-up, transformation, or scale-up environments preferred Strong commercial and financial acumen Ability to build and structure organisations and manage cross-functional teams Experience across sales, service, and operational domains Proficiency in ERP and CRM-based business management
