Great opportunity for recent graduates with a chemistry background South-Eastern Suburbs, Melbourne A global leader in paints, coatings and specialty materials, is seeking a Lab Technician / Chemist to support laboratory testing and quality activities within its coatings business. This role is ideal for someone with a chemistry or science background who enjoys hands-on laboratory work and working within a structured, safety-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Perform routine laboratory testing on paints and coatings , including physical and chemical testing Prepare samples, reagents, and test panels in accordance with standard procedures Conduct viscosity, colour, adhesion, durability, and performance testing Accurately record results, maintain laboratory documentation, and enter data into systems Support quality control testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration schedules, and housekeeping standards Assist with investigations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards About You Qualification in Chemistry, Applied Science, Materials Science , or a related discipline Previous experience in a laboratory, QC, or testing environment preferred Exposure to paint, coatings, chemicals, or manufacturing environments is highly regarded Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures Comfortable with repetitive testing and hands-on lab work Good communication skills and ability to work within a team If you'd like to know more about the role or discuss your suitability, please contact George Koshy at george.koshy@persolapac.com Who we are At PERSOL , we connect people to meaningful work and growth.
