We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Handyman / General Hand to join a well-established business based in Hemmant. This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving, and maintaining facilities and equipment to a high standard. This position is ideal for someone seeking part-time work, approximately 3 days per week , with the potential opportunity to transition into a full-time permanent role directly with the business for the right candidate. This is a labour hire-based position , offering strong hourly rates and additional allowances. A key requirement of this role is the safe and competent operation of a forklift, alongside general handyman and maintenance duties across the site. Pay & Conditions: $40.00 per hour $24.00 daily travel allowance Meal allowance after 9.5 hours worked (where applicable) Superannuation paid on all hours worked Penalty rates apply where applicable Labour hire engagement through Core Talent The Role As a Handyman / General Hand, your duties will include but not be limited to: General handyman and maintenance tasks across the site and facilities Basic repairs and upkeep of equipment, fixtures, and buildings Loading, unloading, moving, and organising materials Safe operation of a forklift for material handling and storage Assisting with general labouring duties as required Waste removal and keeping work areas clean and organised Supporting trades and operational staff with day-to-day tasks Minor welding and fabrication tasks (desirable but not essential) Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard What We’re Looking For To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: Current Forklift Licence (essential) Manual Driver’s Licence (essential) Previous experience in a handyman, maintenance, general hand, or similar role Strong practical, hands-on ability with basic repair skills Welding experience (advantageous) Trade, mechanical, or maintenance background (highly regarded) Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks Ability to work independently and follow instructions Desired Attributes: Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated Strong “can-do” attitude and willingness to help wherever needed Good problem-solving skills with a practical mindset Strong attention to safety and detail Able to work both independently and as part of a team Comfortable working in a varied and fast-paced environment What’s On Offer: Part-time role (approximately 3 days per week) Potential pathway to full-time permanent employment direct with the business Varied, hands-on workload with no two days the same Supportive and down-to-earth team environment Opportunity to join a stable and reputable business Immediate start available for the right candidate If you are an experienced handyman or general maintenance professional with forklift experience, and you’re looking for flexible part-time work with strong earning potential and long-term opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
